Production can be a tricky thing!
When you start off you have no idea of how much you will sell. So knowing how many of an item to produce and how much time to give yourself to produce can be hard to estimate. I have written posts in the past on wholesale production but I want to take some time to talk to the independent designers that are selling retail. I am going to cover 3 areas of production you are already focusing on (or should be to become profitable and organized).
I am going to give you information on when to release a line for sale, a timeline of things to accomplish to get your line ready to sell, how to estimate sales, budgeting for supplies, how much time you need to produce your product and what should be in your pipeline.
As I get into this series I would love to hear back from you so I can include information and answers that will be helpful to you.
What questions do you have about production for your retail shop?
